UPDATED & VERIFIED: SEPTEMBER 1, 2026
Important correction: Seoul's live Hangang Park facility map currently shows four official delivery zones in Yeouido (three permanent plus one temporary) and two official delivery zones in Banpo. Some recent city campaign pages mention only eight zones in Ttukseom, Yeouido and Mangwon, which is why older guides—and even very recent summaries—can conflict. This guide follows the live facility map checked on September 1, 2026.
Ordering Korean fried chicken beside the Han River is one of Seoul's classic picnic experiences. The hard part is not choosing the food. It is choosing a pickup point that a delivery rider can actually reach.
The rule: do not pin your picnic mat. Choose an official Delivery Zone when one is available, watch the order status, and walk to the pickup point before the rider arrives.
What Is a Hangang Park Delivery Zone?
A baedal zone (배달존) is a designated pickup area for food delivery. Seoul operates these zones to keep delivery motorcycles away from pedestrian-heavy park paths. The city asks visitors to receive food at the zone and then carry it back to their picnic spot.
Delivery availability still depends on the restaurant, platform and rider. Always enter the exact pickup point before ordering and confirm that the app will deliver there.
Yeouido Food Delivery: The Easiest Option for First-Time Visitors
Yeouido is the most straightforward choice for Han River chicken delivery because the official map currently lists four pickup zones:
Yeouido Delivery Zone 1: 85 Yeouido-dong — outside the Yeouido underpass, near Exit 3 of Yeouinaru Station.
Yeouido Delivery Zone 2: 84-4 Yeouido-dong — near Yeouido Store No. 2, upstream of the south end of Mapo Bridge.
Yeouido Delivery Zone 3: 8 Yeouido-dong — above the steps beside Mulbit Square and Yeouido Store No. 3.
Temporary Yeouido Delivery Zone: 83-6 Yeouido-dong — inside the public parking area at the south end of Seogang Bridge.
Use the zone closest to your picnic—not the first address you find in an old blog post.
How to Order Food at Yeouido Hangang Park
Choose your picnic area first. Open NAVER Map and identify whether you are closer to Yeouido Underpass, Mulbit Square, Mapo Bridge or Seogang Bridge.
Open the Seoul Hangang Park facility map. Select Yeouido → Convenience Facilities → Other Convenience Facilities → Delivery Zone.
Copy the exact zone address. Do not use the general park address and do not pin your picnic blanket.
Check serviceability before payment. The restaurant and delivery app must accept that exact outdoor location.
Add a clear pickup note. For example: “Meet at Yeouido Delivery Zone 1 (배달존 1). I will wait by the sign.”
Keep notifications on. Outdoor deliveries often require live messages or a short call.
Walk to the zone early. Be there before the estimated arrival time, collect the food, then return to the river.
Ordering Without a Korean Phone Number: SHUTTLE Delivery
VISITKOREA currently presents SHUTTLE Delivery as a foreigner-focused option. Its official guide says users can sign up without a Korean phone number, use international credit cards, choose English, Japanese or Chinese, and contact English-speaking support. A separate VISITKOREA ordering guide also lists PayPal among checkout options.
That does not mean every restaurant or every park pickup point is available. VISITKOREA explicitly notes that service can be limited by region. Enter the exact delivery-zone address first and see which restaurants appear before planning your picnic around the app.
If SHUTTLE does not serve your selected zone, the simpler fallback is takeout: buy chicken, pizza, tteokbokki or gimbap near the park and carry it in.
Banpo Food Delivery: Current Official Map Shows Two Zones
This is the detail most likely to be wrong in older search results. The live Seoul Hangang Park facility map checked on September 1, 2026 lists:
Banpo Delivery Zone 1: 122-1 Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu.
Banpo Delivery Zone 2: 115-5 Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu.
Both entries are marked operational on the official map. However, the location label displayed for both entries is ambiguous, so do not rely on a copied Korean label alone. Use the live official map and its photo, then confirm the exact meeting point with the app or rider before paying.
Why the confusion? Seoul's July 31, 2026 delivery-zone campaign highlighted eight zones in Ttukseom, Yeouido and Mangwon and did not mention Banpo. The broader live facility database now shows two Banpo zones. We treat the live database as the current location reference while noting the inconsistency openly.
Can You Meet a Rider Near the South End of Jamsu Bridge?
The Banpo side of Jamsu Bridge and the park entrance are easy landmarks. They can be useful for explaining where you are, especially near Moonlight Square and Some Sevit.
WARNING — NOT AN AUTOMATIC DELIVERY ZONE: A general “Jamsu Bridge south end” pin is not a substitute for the two official Banpo Delivery Zone entries. Use it only as a fallback meeting point if the app accepts the address and the rider explicitly agrees to meet there. Vehicle access can also change during the Car-Free Jamsugyo Bridge Festival and other events.
Yeouido vs Banpo: Which Is Better?
Choose Yeouido if this is your first outdoor delivery. Four official zones make pickup easier to explain.
Choose Banpo for the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, Jamsu Bridge and Some Sevit—but verify the exact official zone in the live map because the current labels are less clear.
Choose takeout if the app does not confirm service to your selected pickup point. The goal is dinner by the river, not winning an argument with a map pin.
FAQ
Can tourists order food at the Han River without a Korean phone number?
Yes, in some cases. VISITKOREA says SHUTTLE Delivery supports signup without a Korean phone number and international-card payment. Service availability varies by location, so test the exact pickup address before ordering.
Does the rider deliver to my picnic mat?
No. At parks with official zones, meet the rider at the designated Delivery Zone and carry the food back to your picnic area.
How many official Delivery Zones are in Yeouido?
The live Seoul facility map showed four on September 1, 2026: three permanent zones and one temporary zone.
Does Banpo have an official Delivery Zone in 2026?
Yes. Contrary to some recent summaries, the live official facility map showed two operational Banpo Delivery Zones when checked on September 1, 2026.
What if the app will not deliver to Banpo?
Try a different official zone only if it is convenient, or switch to takeout. Do not assume a rider will meet at a general bridge or park pin without confirmation.
